Question from Newbie re: York Meeting
« on: 01 May 2009, 10:10:55 »

Sorry to be ignorant but being new I'm not sure where can I find on the Forum details about the York meeting i.e. what it is all about? what's there? exactly where is it held? etc

I live within striking distance of York and quite fancy something to do this weekend and finding this forum has renewed my love affair with my Omega as its nice to see other people have the same issues as me! LOL

One more point - is the meet suitable for a wheelchair or is it in a field somewhere?

Thanks in advance

Details of location are in thread 'York Atendees', first post.

As for wheelchair access, never been to the site myself, so cannot comment, hopefully one of the people who went last year can comment further

Yes this meet is in a field, there is a hard standing area where some members who require hook up may be using but the main camp is all on grass away from the hard standing area.

Does this make it impossible for you or can we do something to help so you may attend?

Thank you both for your responses - I'll have a look at the first thread now.

With regards to access it may be a little problem as my wife is either in a wheelchair that I have to push or she is in an electric scooter but this doesn't have great clearance. In addition if it rains or the ground is wet it makes it almost impossible to move in either easily.

Not a problem though - we'll manage one way or another.

Regards

Gareth  ;)

There's enough people going I'm sure they'll be able to help... Even if you have to carry the chair across the field :y :y :y

Wish I lived a bit nearer :'( :'( :'(

Thanks Lazydocker - I'm 6' 4" and 23 stone and I can manage her left foot - know what I mean?  ;) I think it would take the whole forum to get her around!!

Have a great weekend if we don't make it - looking forward to seeing the reports!
