My new 2.2CD
« on: 31 December 2015, 09:24:53 »

Hi all, this is my 51 plate, petrol 2.2CD. Was my Dad's but he's had his licence revoked Sue to I'll health so I inherited it so to speak. I'm hoping to do some mild mods to it such as cruise control, leather interior, dab double din stereo, sportier suspension, Elite wheels, stainless exhaust and a boot spoiler. Hopefully I'll find out loads about these cars on here and meet up with like minded owners.
First things first though, need to fix the bonnet release handle back on. No idea how to do it yet though. Lol.

Nice looking car appears to have been well kept. From a personal point of view I would say that all Omegas look better with a boot spoiler 8)Plenty of help to be had on here.Sounds like an afterthought but isn't meant to be,sorry to hear of your dads health problems.

Thanks fella, to be honest it wasn't a surprise and we had been expecting it for a while but he took it quite badly when it happened. I'm glad I got the car though for both sentimental value and that I've always liked the Omega. Sadly though due to being let down by someone I trusted to do some work on the car I now have to find a replacement bonnet and n/s/f door in the same colour. Also I need to work out how to fix the bonnet release lever from inside the car as it's hanging off.

I don't know whether this would be allowed as I'm not an admin. but you could try putting a wanted ad in the test zone[2nd heading down on index page] along with paint code[to be found on drivers door pillar]and asking nicely if an admin will move to wanted section?

I'll have to ask and then take it from there. I have seen the required panels for sale on eBay for £20 each but need to travel to collect them and don't have the required vehicle to collect them with. Might ask how much a courier would charge though.

Would those doors be from Nigel Pearson in Nottingham.
Normally you get a good deal from him. Also try him for other spares. My rear door cost £20 and you can't tell the difference from the original.
Also, looking at your car, is it Ural Mountain Green. If so, its the same as one of mine. Nice colour, and not many around. Think I saw it on Facebook ;)

His name on Ebay comes up as omega52 but he seems to have loads of stuff. I'm about to message him but really need to sort some transport out to collect them.
