In the first superbike race yesterday Guy Martin crashed out[thankfully only his left wrist seems to have taken a bit of a hit but apparently nothing too serious]Michael Dunlop was leading after lap1 but shortly after his bike broke down.Of course every last one of them is stone mad :D,but the adrenaline rush must be awesome. You do of course get to see more of the races when sat at home than actually attending but I can still recall the atmosphere experienced by physically being there although it's close on 50yrs since I went!

Yes not sure who's maddest the solo riders doing 130 odd mph laps or the sidecar "passenger" chucking themselves about and hanging of the sidecar at stupid mph!

Highlights of the Superbike TT on ITV4 from 9pm. Before that (started 12 minutes ago) The unrideables, programme about the old 500cc two stroke bikes. A superb programme.

3 riders killed in action at the TT this year unfortunately.  :(

He was mad as a box of frogs, but you had to love the guy. :y
The bikes were proper mens bikes. Light as a feather, close to 200 bhp, and the narrowest of power bands  which made the throttle like an on/off switch. Highsides and the resulting broken wrists / collarbones were just an occupational hazard.
A lot of todays riders who have anti wheelie programming, traction control, power smoothed out by the ECU etc. wouldn't have lasted 5 minutes on those bikes. They were animals to ride.
