Wanted - Instrument panel for 2.6 Estate
« on: 10 November 2019, 23:30:54 »

As per the subject heading.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think '2.6' and 'Estate' are key to getting the right part.

I've got 2, you can have for £1.,  One is Calibrated police, other was working when removed, both are from 3.0L estate, using ar35. Postage extra or collection from hoof'land :)

Thanks for the interesting offer.
Concerned that a bog standard 2.6 elite will only have an ar25, so they might not be suitable.
Any easy way to check whether ar25/35 that you know of?

I wasn’t expecting the gearbox to be an issue as I thought I’d read speed was taken from an abs sensor. Seems these motors are more complicated than their age suggests..

It will be fine :y

AR25/35 is the torque rating... won't affect the cluster ;)

IIRC what I read on here its to do with calibration of the fuel gauge.

Ah,it never occurred to me about the different tank shape.Good to know in case the instrument panel is at fault on mine as I'd have just bought one for a 3L auto without thought to the difference for the fuel gauge.

I'm going to disagree  :) - purely because the fuel gauge is the same part number across the range irrespective of engine size and body type. Therefore as with most cars, surely it's more to do with the source of the information i.e. a fuel gauge sender unit that reads the level of fuel relative to the tank capacity and sends the info to the gauge....
But I will stand corrected.....
