Had same problem on my Dads, the rubber in the rear channel was slightly adrift, have a look at that,  squirting some lube in there at the same time helped too

Is the difference acceptable if I can`t get hold of Z147 or is it best to bide my time and hope or go for a 3 door respray :-/

Depends on what you call acceptable?, all i can say is you will see a difference

He says it lights when pressed ! ::)

I know , but it might be working on and off, i have a key here that lights up some times and not others, both solders are broke, and that piece of cardboard has probably been wedged in there to keep it tight for that very reason because his light is hit and miss as he has explained
