Drove home after a Devon holiday on the inside lane of the M5, right up to the M42 junction. Overtook, sorry, undertook, most of the middle lane hoggers and had a great run. Back to normal on the M42, M6 and A14. That was a very new A14 too.

Move over two lanes and pass them safely and clearly. It's only illegal if the manoeuvre is aggressive or dangerous in nature and you are generally swerving around. Anything else is simply passing slower moving traffic in another lane.

Alternatively, we know someone with a stock of marked V70s to get the job done

An undertake would have been easy and safe. There was a principal at stake, and I was in works time, so no rush

An undertake wouldn't have been sufficient for me. Traffic permitting, he'd have found me in the outside lane doing 55.

When i said it was a new A14 Dave it was because it was just being built, well ,cobbled together really. Must have been at least 15 or 20 years ago. Us oldies like living in the past.

Yes, the red mist descended on me a couple of times today. Forced me to do an overtake that was touch and go for a second or two. The approaching driver tested his headlights.
