If it wasn't for my strong willpower, I would have washed to cars today 8)
;D

Your determination has inspired me not to wash mine.

I sat in the drivers seat while a big roller went over the top and back.

I do that with the battlebus. Mainly because its had a fair record on breaking BP's carwash when the aerial gets tangled.  It usually gets most of the mould off first though :)

Re-attached the CV boot in its proper place. Breaking the poxy pair of CV boot clip pliers that Amazon delivered barely 4hrs ago in the process.

That suits me just fine as I'll get a refund and can buy a decent pair at my leisure, meanwhile the sh!troen is back in business.  :y

Today -
cleaned the breathers.
fitted new pollen filter.
Drained coolant, gave it a flush, then filled with new longlife coolant.
Drained the oil and fitted a new oil filter.
Removed the sump....................then torrential rain stopped play.

Tomorrow hoping to -
clean the oil strainer
clean out and refit the sump
fill with fresh oil
fit new air filter, if it arrives.

That will leave the cambelt kit and aux. belt to fit.

Acquired a new rear bumper to replace the battered and bruised one that came with the car.

Broke it  :(

screen wash jets not working
so I had a fiddle ,got those working but the headlamp wash pump is definitely cream crackered  (tested the pump direct to 12v)
windscreen jet wash pump seems to be weeping slightly from the bearing hole , so that needs replacing too

and I have had Insignia mist screen wash jets sitting on my desk for a few weeks ,
so when the pumps come i may as well flush the pipework and fit those too

opted for Saab 90508709 pump at £17 clicky because the Vauxhall one in a Saab box clicky is £23  ;D

forgot to look which terminal configuration the screen wash pump is ,so back out to look  :-[

this one £5.46   :)

Today almost went according to plan, apart from the air filter didnt turn up.
Anyway, cleaned out the sump as it was off.
removed the oil strainer (a bit of a faf) and blasted some carb cleaner down it. Then notice something jammed inside it.
Got a pair of tweezers and teased it out.

A lump of folded up plastic ! God knows how or when it got in there, but it was before my time.

Then refitted the strainer, smeared sump and block faces with Hylomar blue and refitted it. Refilled with fresh 10/40 semi and started it up. Burped the cooling system and topped it up. Job Jobbed.
