Started the bank holiday early with a day off on Thursday and Friday.

Second interview for a job on Thursday, which seemed to go pretty well. Then headed for SirTiggerLand for the weekend.

Job offer on friday followed by composing an email giving my notice, possibly after one too many beers. ::)

Conversation with my boss on Saturday, who didn't take it too badly, much to my relief.

Just been out to celebrate. Might have eaten and drunk slightly too much. :-[

Not a great deal in it. 22 miles versus about 18 or 19.

Do need to investigate LPG availability, mind. ::)

Many congrats Kevin. I was in your neck of the woods for a couple of days. Visited Winchester, dinner with friends in Avington tottered around Alresford also, stayed at Holiday Inn in Winchester which was absolutely first class. Back along the A31 but double whammy on Phaeton after diagnosis at home yesterday - aircon condenser has gone and steering fluid disappeared through seal on steering rack. Not cheap jobs on the P. will assess indie costs v VW tomorrow.

Ah, you came past the end of my road, then. ;D

Sorry to hear of the Phaeton issues.

A good bank holiday day out on Sunday at Bruntingthorpe enjoying fast taxi runs of:

Nimrod
VC10
Victor
Hunter
Comet
Delfin
Jet Provost
Iskra
Canberra
Buccaneers
Lightning

Plus a Shack, Super Guppy, Meteour, Star Fighter and a few others on the ground.

Highly recommended if you want to be deaf quickly   :D :D :D

So they managed to get the Canberra started then  :o
I know they had igniter problems during the week  :(

Good to see the Avon 302's in the Lightning still aiding the deaf community  ;) ;D
Oh I do miss the smell of avpin  ;D
Did they run both 928 and 904 ?

Must get down there sometime to see a few old faces.
Sadly the tossers that I work with insisted that I work all day Friday and Monday with the Wife working all day Sunday so couldn't get there AGAIN  >:(

The Canberra got sorted that morning, just the one Lightning (928) and no jet blast from the Nimrod this year (unlike two years ago), they just blasted the plastic barriers into the trees instead.

I always forget just how bloody loud the VC10 was (but then your are bloody close to them all)

A full days set to, takes a bit longer to fire the big aircraft up so some waiting occasionally but, pretty non stop.

At £20 a head and kids go free, what's not to like (the weather was kind to) and they hold it down the bottom end away from the cars to so you have trees giving a better background for photos.

Dad goes down on a Sunday every few weeks to show people around and was saying the Hunter boys are running out of start cartridges so it was good it went first (the problem engine on the Canberra took three shots).
