I remember the first Rangers turning up and how big they appeared to be. Now if you put one of the originals[if you can find one] at the side of the later ones it looks absolutely tiny!
If it comes down to replacing the dash cluster(assuming you can find a known good one) is there a way to alter mileage to match the original one or do you have to go with incorrect mileage being shown?
That's exactly like my dash cluster, sometimes worked other times not.car's been parked in garage for a couple of years or so and if I remember rightly the rev counter needle is sat pointing at about 500revs or so.Other more important things to fix on the car first[when I can work up the enthusiasm to bother] then I'll worry about cluster.
Therein lies my problem.Mechanically I can do most jobs on a car[or with help all such jobs] however when it comes to welding I'm stuck.I learned to gas weld nearly 50 years ago but it's a skill I've not used in many years,I've never learned to Mig weld and I don't know anyone who can although it wouldn't help much as my lock up garage has no electricity so if it comes to welding it's either pay a garage to do it or scrap whatever car it happens to be.
