I'd be amazed if I were the first, NewbieDocker, but probably the first to get a verbal smack from TB!

I'm sure that rather than risk losing such a wonderful Forum, many people would be prepared to make voluntary contributions, me included.
Do you have a mechanism in place to facilitate this, or if not, could you perhaps initiate one?

EE is SO concerned about including every conceivable damaged minority that all human mis-life is there - the only rarities are normal, heterosexual caucasians!
Bring back Dirty Den: again!

I know this won't mean a lot to most on here, TB, but a similar thing has happened to the al fresco market at Camden Lock, North London. It started out as a trendy use for the old horse hospital and stables, with all sorts of art and craft stalls and items that you couldn't get anywhere else, plus a magnificent range of ethnic food stalls - all at reasonable prices.
In moves the "gentrifiers" and commercial interests, who pretty it up, ruin the atmosphere and introduce tourist tat at inflated prices.
Also, the weirdos who were great for people-watching have all but disappeared!

Ray, I used to teach soldering skills, amongst many other things, so rather than bore other Oofers silly with the procedures, if you wish I will PM you with details of best practice.

Thanks, Nick - that was the point I was trying to make, but nowhere near as eloquently as you!

Wouldn't the transponder be glued to the part of the key that you retained? If so, no coding or syncing tequired.

Nick W, that must have been the tape my students used.
Some of the intellectually-challenged used to attend class wearing headphones, and when told to remove them, replied that they really needed them. I listed for myself and they were saying "Breathe in; Breathe out; Breathe in; Breathe Out....."

They are brillialt! I replaced the toilet cistern, loft CWS and CH Portsmouth valves with them - FluidMaster, I thinl - and they are all quick and quiet. The loft ones used to sound like Concorde coming in to land!
Also, I changed the toilst cistern flush device for a same-make push button type; it has the overflow incorporated within itself, so no outside pipe required. That's quieter, too, for those middle-of-the-night visits as you get older.......

Baza, I am astonished to read that you, as an intelligent man, are taken in by the Government propagada and myth that CO2 is the enemy. Cars, in any engine type, do not pollute to any significant extent - and that includes from lead in petrol!
I'm sure that REALLY, you know differently? I won't go into the real culprit of global warming, because I reckon that you know it already, but if you sincerely believe that CO2 is the villain, let me just say that more than 98% of CO2 generation is from a single source - US, when we breathe.
Save the planet by removing a few people.....I have MY list and I bet you have yours, too!

Isn't there a refurbisher next to Serek's garage?

Just a caveat or two here, if I may.
The basic DC chargers are fine to attach directly to a still-connected battery, but some cheapo ones have a rather high applied voltage when the battery approaches fully-charged, so please remove the charger as soon as you see gassing (if it isn't sealed) or monitor the terminal voltage.
The so-called "smart" chargers (I have the Halfords Bulk/Maintain model) pulse their output so that they can monitor the rising battery voltage in the "off" part of the pulsing and it is this pulsing which has great potential to damage ECU and the like - so always disconnect the battery if you are using a charger of this type.
As has been mentioned on here before, if you have a separate battery or other 12 volt source, connect this to the battery leads before removing them from your battery, thereby keeping the car alive, and then connect the charger directly to the naked battery itself.

Even these, Andy -  Ebay item No. 301908128523?
They have 8 SM LEDs to give all-round coverage, reportedly.
