Next heatwave is rolling up next week  8). 35°C will coming up.

2018 can be the hottest summer since beginning of measurement in Germany. +4.5 K is needed for that in August. Actually we stay at +6.5 K

I've just been pottering about outside and smelt woodsmoke.  One of the neighbours has lit his wood burner!  :-X

It's August for gods sake!  :D

Talking of August I saw the first Christmas advert today!  ::)  >:(

Soon be time for the older members, to put their central heating on, then we can have numerous posts about, central heating not working, and plumbers being late, and the classic," I'm a poor pensioner"

Christmas smileys make everything better.

That is a problem caused by the polar jet. The jet devides arctic from subtropic weather. Actually his position is northern France cross the Channel over the North Sea to Scandinavia. Normally the curves of the jet are moving 1.000 miles a week, so European weather is changing. Sometimes hot and dry, sometimes cool and wet.

But this year everything is completely different. The jet does no move. OK a few hundred miles east or west, but no significant change. Since April we are on the southeast side with record high temperatures. Something around +3...4K in average. Actually (August) +6.5 K

It was raining early this morning, temperature was a mild 15°C. The rain turned to drizzle as the morning wore on, and the temperature increased slightly. By lunch time the sky was clear apart from the odd grey cloud. This afternoon I watched Liverpool beat West Ham and then Manchester City beat Arsenal so, I'm afraid, I can't give you a completely accurate report. However, when I went out to put something in the bin at around 3:30, the ground was dry, so I think it's safe to assume that there was no further rain.

It's dark now, so I don't have a fickin clue what's going on outside. Sorry.

Three days ago it was 40+ºC and it felt like the concrete could melt my feet. Today it's 19ºC and gloomy.

Then again, three days ago I was in Vegas. ;D

I think that theory was disproved a while back.

Ah yes! It was claimed that Elvis worked down the chip shop, but that was a lie!  However, he was seen walking out of a 7/11!  ;)

Just because he was seen walking out, doesn't necessarily follow that he actually worked there. More proof needed, I think.

I got mixed up and forgot about the chip shop.  I don't think he worked in the 7/11, just was seen walking out.  :-\
