Have a '99? 3.0 Elite with sat-nav. It is missing the little whip antenna above the rear window. Seems to get pretty good reception without it. Also, there seems to be 2 different length antennas in the gallery? Should I get an antenna and which one? Does it help? Is it just going to get nicked?

As far as I know the little aerial just above the rear window is a GSM aerial for the built-in phone standard on some models. The radio aerial is integrated with the rear demister.

I've seen them with two antennas, one on the glass for the phone and one at the rear of the roof for ????

OK, on another car I had it used both. Called the demister-style loop a 'diversity antenna'. Radio then had choice of strongest signal. That may be the case here, or it may just be for the phone. I haven't tried the phone function yet. May be only worth messing with if I start using the phone.

Roof antenna is phone and GPS....rear window is radio aerial.
The give away is that the rear screen heater will have two vertical lines on it about 1/4 of the way in on either side.....if so it is also the radio aerial.

Dont know. The cradle inside takes a nokia 6310, but I dont know which phones,if any, were fitted as standard.

If it has a cradle it is an aftermarket install. The Vx phone is built into the radio, you just insert a sim card in behind the removable buttons and it integrates with the mid and radio speakers.

What radio have you got? if it is a CCRT700, it will have a phone built-in. You then just need to insert a 900 gsm sim (O2 or Vodaphone) and you've got yourself a carphone. Has to be said though, it is not the greatest phone in the world. I don't bother with mine anymore, just use a Bluetooth headset instead.

Where is the GPS aerial connector? might be a better option to use that, at the moment my gps receiver is velcro'ed to the dash!

I've got a CCR600
I may be being a bit simplistic but I presume CCR is CD,Cassette,Radio and the extra T on yours for Telephone ::)

CAR = CAssette & Radio
CCR = CD changer compatible, Cassette & Radio
CDR = CD & Radio
CCRT = CCR + phone
So you're not being too simplistic :)
