Off  :y

Shame about the 2 nice friggin chips out of the front edge though  :'(

I've just tapped 3 panel pins in for support and filled them with plastic padding  :-\

See if it stays in there when it comes down to sanding  :-\

On a good note, the clip on trim bits came off the old tailgate easy and the colour is a perfect match so that's one less thing to piss me off  ::)

A bit of effort as well...

Stand facing the tailgate as it sits closed on the car, place your palms side by side about in the centre and try to bench press it up. It should eventually start to peel off. Just work your way around it with a scraper.

Should take about ten minutes with a heat gun :y

Its sat on the kitchen worktop work bench now  :y
No heat needed.
The tailgate is facing south and the paintwork is blistering hot anyway  ;)
