Omega General Help / Power steering
« on: 04 March 2017, 00:02:47 »
Anyone know the part number for the 2-pipelines that are visible in the front bumper when the bonnet is open if you know what I mean?

Seems the rust has won the battle and now there's a leak  ::)

Thanks in advance!  :y

Double parking to protect your car, Do you personally do it?

http://www.mirror.co.uk/news/uk-news/selfish-driver-defends-bad-parking-9607250?ICID=FB_mirror_main

I don't blame anyone for doing it, Car space sizes are ridiculously out dated, It's all about cramming as much Cars/People as possible so these shops or whatever to gain the maximum amount of customers. That's all well and good but some car parks just take the p**s extremely narrow especially those 10-20+ years old. Cars get bigger, car parks remain the same. Not a good recipe.

Would i double park, That's a tough one to answer. If you do double park you are painting a great big bullseye on your car! ...Tbh I've not seen many double parking around here.

What are your thoughts on this topic?

Has anyone had a kinda annoying problem where the auto transmission leaver while in 'D' driving occasionally shakes making a sort of rattling sound / movement?

One of mans greatest inventions?... More like one of the most stressful things ever invented  ;D

Black Friday... Saw a Crucial 750GB SSD for £105 which seemed a good price so thought I'd try give my old Toshiba laptop a new lease of life before biting the bullet on a new Laptop.

Now I don't want to go too technical all I wanted to do was clone my 750GB HDD and then just slot the SSD in and that's it.. however nothing is ever simple.

This is the error I get using the Crucial recommended software 'Acronis True Image 2015'

I did also try something else called Aomei that didn't work either.

If I can't clone my HDD then I'm just gonna have to call it a day I've lost all patience with it at this stage (more so with windows than anything else)... The laptop does work fine at the moment but really is slow booting up and opening things etc... supposedly a SSD will help. Anyway I really do hate 'so called technology' at times.

With all the Apple related topics of recent weeks mainly being somewhat negative, Thought I'd make one as well  ;D

Bought a iPhone 7 Plus 256GB which arrived on the 22nd of September and there's nothing wrong with the iPhone I like it  :y.. The only annoying part was transferring things over from the backup on my laptop via iTunes which I now hate with a passion. Basically no matter what I did to try and transfer everything via the backup I made with my old iPhone 6s Plus 128GB it always said it was corrupt. Even Apple support had no idea what was up with it..

Anyway I had to go down the backup option for the backup.. iCloud which I think is handy but with my internet I had to use my Three internet which wasn't an issue but even that took about 12 hours to fully restore everything from the 6s backup.

But there is a downside to iCloud restoring, Apps that have been discontinued or removed from the Apple App Store for whatever reason do not get restored back onto your phone via iCloud like it would with iTunes so lost around 7 apps the only good thing is I can't remember what they where so no harm done (this time)...

Just glad all my pictures, contact info, notes, app layout etc.. was put back almost exactly like it was on the old phone iCloud does seem to be improving unlike useless iTunes!

Anyone else got or is getting the 7 / 7 Plus?

Even with all that camouflage crap on the car it reminds me of the Omega in a weird twisted way ;D (what a up to date version of what i'd expect the Omega would look like), Hopefully it'll be a better proposition than the current gen Insignia.

Sounds like their keeping the V6 also going by the video  8)

Don't know about anyone else... But i'll be tempted to give one of these a test drive when their out probably around 2017/18.

Who knows.... Maybe Vauxhall will make something that will one day be an acceptable replacement to fill the gap in the Vauxhall line up since they axed the Omega. Maybe then there will be less "Omega Replacement" threads  :D

Never thought I'd say this but their growing on me, Never used to like the way they looked (still don't like the plastic square shaped interior mind) ..but I've recently seen a few on the road and they look good IMO, Sound pretty good an all.

So what to look out for on these then?

Prices seem to vary 2k - 8k still a pretty good price for a decently quick car.

Not looking to replace the Omegas with one but maybe add one to the fleet.
