TB's Garage thread
« on: 12 August 2013, 08:08:04 »

Following the drama of exactly 1 calendar month ago, my best mate and I decided to make a start on clearing all the rubble from what was the lawn, so we could cut the grass.  I was keen to try to keep the grass shortish, and ensure no large bits of rubble were left in it, getting half buried in the ground, waiting to be caught by a lawnmower and sent stright through a window in a few months time.

It certainly looks a lot tidier now, and we did make a start on rummaging through it to drag out anything recognisable for photographing, but didn't get too far...  ...moving heavy rubble is hard work for 2 unfit, middle aged men on a hot day  :-[

I think the big benefit of doing this was so that Mrs TB, who was out all day, could see that things were moving, as after a month of inactivity, it was beginning to get her down a bit  :'(

Certainly brings a new meaning to " I am going to have a garage clearout this weekend, it is in a right state"!.

In the second picture. Has your kitchen window frame melted at the top?

You could get the pikey's to collect it :y  ;D ;D

On a serious note you were very lucky having noticed the gutter and upstairs window as well as the kitchen had melted :y

I've been staring at those photos trying to make out the remains of anything that was in that garage. I've spotted what I think used to be a 'fridge and perhaps a Kwaka fuel tank, and that's about it.  :(

Wasn't there a shed behind it, too?

Oi! Thats after I've tidied it ;D

Not just if its visible on the low res pics, but you can see where the rubble had been thrown to by the marks in the grass, so we made a hell of a start yesterday :)

Bricks, metal and wood is easily moved, although its a young man's graft - I slept like a baby last night.  However, mechanical aids will be required to drag the floor out. Even then, it will need breaking up first.
