Favourite holiday destinations
« on: 29 July 2014, 13:24:21 »

For those that are able to, what is your favourite holiday destination?

For foreign holiday, I love the Greek part of Cyprus, with a soft spot for more rural France. UK, being a big kid, any seaside, although I particularly like West Country, such as Cornwall and Devon.

Abroad   :  Puerto Banús, and surrounding areas!
Home     :  Pocklington (York)

I'm too far North though, and already see anything as far South as Englandshire a trip abroad!   :D ;D

At home probably Cornwall.. in fact a large part of me would love to move there for a quiet life.

Abroad .. so far probably Tokyo, but since I've only been to most places once it's hard to say anywhere is my favourite go-to destination.

Llanes, Northern Spain. Warm, rather than blistering hot, and changeable weather. So like uk plus 10c. Stunning scenery, from the mountains to the rocky coast line.

UK. Gower peninsular and the worms head. Northern Coast of Cornwall. Specifically Padstow lifeboat, Trevose Head.

Andalucia- stunning scenery, beaches, history.

Then for a change the green damp of rural North Yorkshire. ;D

Not very keen on cities except for short visits. Rome, Barcelona.

If money was no object we would have been living in Corsica which has the lot (scenery, history, beaches, mountains, French food....)  :(

Only problem is each villa we book now, needs to have two private swimming pools  ;D

Our favourite holidays have been exactly that. Over the past 35 years, every second year, we have visited most of the National Parks in the Western States, also many State Parks, always in an RV. The most spectacular area is Southern Utah, where there are many NP's. We also like Italy, esp. Tuscany and the Bay of Naples area, Ravello is very nice. Also any Caribbean Island with good diving. ::)

Since moving to West Wales, every day is like being on holiday. SWMBO was talking to her dentist yesterday and said this. The dentist told her that she had been here for 20 years and still felt like that.

So to answer the question.

UK - Here or Cardigan coast. although quite like fishing in Scotland also

Doing things type holiday abroad: Skiing Val Thorens. South Western USA, driving around Arizona, Monument valley, Utah.

Doing nothing type holiday abroad: Menorca  :y

its beautiful, warm, safe like a big swimming pool..  and the island bays around are very nice for daily boat/speed boat trips.. and safe for driving water go-carts :) :y :y

I have seen many places which are also beautiful but extremely hot..  Ölüdeniz is always a bit windy which keeps you "normal"

I also recommend you to visit İztuzu beach (Dalyan) .. its very close to Ölüdeniz..
