Hi

i have allready tried that by mistake when i changed the pipes round on the front vac res i changed them back over after a short run to see if there was any differance (not that i could tell),  when i changed them  back over  again to there new posisions there was a good hiss for about a second or two so that must be a good sign that the system is holding pressure anthing else i could try?

i have read some where that the multiram only operates under load is that perhaps  why i can not see the system working? but still the engine does still seem alot down on mid range grunt compared to my last one :(

sorry for the late reply to my own thread. :-[

I have checked the pipe on the rear multiram actuator by sucking  on the pipe with a lengh of thin vac hose and i can  now see the ram open and close so i know now that both diaphrams are ok,
i have changed around the two pipes on the vacuum tank at the front of the engine as they seemed to be the wrong way round (one seemed too tight in its path and other to loose if you get what i mean) and they were twisted over.

so i am now hopeing it all works but i still can not see  the rams open when i rev the engine by hand, if it is still not working what other areas should i start checking

so the rear actuator has a rubber hose rather than a thin plastic hose then because all i can see near the rear one is a sort of S shape of hoses

but all them hoses do feel very stiff  i will  dig around the rear again tomoorow. cheers for your reponse THE BOY

they do move freely by hand both the front and rear valves, i have tried taking off the thin white vac hose going to  the front actuator and sucking that hard makes the front valve move,

i cannot see which hose goes to the rear one?   will try again tomorrow (my times very limited)

what is the vacum tank is that the black box with the black and white thin pipes going to it on the front of the engine?

Omega General Help / multiram help

I have just under the bonnet of my megga for a general poke around and clean up (about two cans of carb cleaner) to try and see why this motor seems to be alot less powerful than my last 2.5.

I have been looking aty the multiram set up checked all the pipes etc and it all seems to be in order no spilt or ripped pipes but i can not see any parts of the multiram working at tick over or at high revs (i belive this i why i have a lack of power.

I have done a search on here on how to check the operation of it but still nothing seems to do anything my eml light is not  lite up but does take awhile to go out some times (about 2secs) and now and again breifly flickers does this mean anything :-?

maybe it needs turning on with a tech2 device which i dont have :(

can any one help???

Just been out to look at mine does look like a bit of a tight squeeze maybe out with the drivers side engine mount tilt the engine over and swear away ;D.

would be a b'stard job though if the bolts started snapping.

My local vx dealer has just quoted me £349 + vat for a cambelt change :o
told me would be a all day job 8 hours labour i  nearly fell over laughing.  yet a smaller garage about 5 mins down the road only wants £240 inc vat i think your prices for dis pac and leads is very good.
