Bloody autos, averaged 27mpg over last 1,000 miles or so from the 3.2

Wish the 3.2 was a manual  :(
I fancy another manual. Just not an Omega one, as that gearbox is horrid.

I'd agree with that.

Was the manual box specifically designed for the Omega, or was it taken from a lorry to save on costs?...... ::) ::) ;)

It was designed to tow the biggest pikey wagon in the world, IMHO. 120 odd BHP/Tonne and first gear gets you just above walking pace. (and grabbing second then takes about as long as second class post)   ;)

.......
I believe that the tank holds about fourteen gallons......but I could be wrong.

All models, according to Mr Haynes have a 75 litre tank (about 16 & a half gallons)  :y

Yea thanks, so on that basis Ive used about 12.3 Gals over 400 miles, works out about 32 Mpg, not bad but not as good as I could get from my old 3.0 MV6 Estates, probably more like 37mpg on a run like that from memory.

These 3.2 are just not up for the economy that the older 3.0 use to do, still good to give it a blast  on the proper stuff as still cant decide whether to LPG the 3.2 Ex plod Estate or my old work horse 3.0 MV6 Estate, both manuals. :-\

Don't forget, thats 75 litres from full tank to bone dry not from full tank to fuel light. So if you still have another quarter tank left before the fuel light comes on, then you've done much more then 32mpg. :)

Nothing wrong with the Box, its an easy box to get alone with, just the gear stick feels like a boat paddle on a Venetian Gondola on the V6;s, change it to a short shift and bend it towards the driver side (some were fitted to ex plods), and change your seating position from Auto to Manual and its a very pleasing drive.  :y
