another years worth of motoring!
« on: 20 March 2019, 17:37:22 »

Well what do you know!!
The elite passed its mot again with a couple of advisories.
Brake pipes covered in grease or other material, ooops who did that then? ;D
one headlight misty( yes aint they all)
slight blow on exhaust, yes back box on its way out , cat back on its way from eternal, I just wanted to see what else was wrong before I spent out for one.

I managed even less miles this year only 3,500k which puts her up to a mere 143,291k

I do like this car :)

congratulations on the pass  :)

I've always cleaned examined and greased metal brake lines and the ferrules on the flexis ,every year during a pre MOT check .

MOT testers have a corrosion assessment tool, the screwdriver end is to scrape rust on things like brake lines to asses if the rust is serious enough to warrant a Fail .

I guess they just cover themselves with that advisory note

Cheers chaps!
I actually didn't put anything on the brake pipes, I suspect they are still coated from a previous owner, I purchased this car from jamesv6 a couple of years ago(well two mot's) who had done a considerable amount of work on it.

Yes a good feeling as I had expected a fail as exhaust is blowing and as I'm sure others are was nervous re sills etc as I didn't dare look myself 😊
Anyway new cat back exhaust going on and treat her to a right good service followed by a right good thrashing 😃

Well done on the MOT. With regards to your headlights, mine are as clear as the day the car came from the showroom. I have those plastic headlight protectors on mine, I wonder if that is the reason. :)
