Water Leak
« on: 08 March 2018, 10:02:12 »

Hello, the car is a 2.6 v6 estate. After some searching and reading I suspect the problem is the HBV. There is an epic level of water coming from the rear of the engine. Possibly more to the passengers side of the car.

Anything else it could be?

Is it affected by the setting of the heat control? Try setting it at "Lo" and then "Hi" to see if it changes. If it does, then it's highly likely to be the HBV. If not, then maybe (rarely) a core plug?

Ron.

Several other pipes at back of engine worth checking as over time the spring clips, especially if these have been removed and refitted numerous times, can cut into the rubber pipework.

Scuttle off and run engine up to temperature to have a better look..as suggested adjust the climate setting from Lo to Hi and see if that produces the leak
