"Check Oil Level" spurious warning?
« on: 19 July 2010, 21:38:41 »

I got a Check Oil Level warning on the way home tonight but, when I later did, it was ok (in fact, if anything, it was a few thou over-full).

Any idea what this could be?

The level on the dipstick was at max. Looks like a sensor snag in that case.

I bet they're a bugger to change?!

ive had exact same problem.sometimes when on the motorway it does it,not going fast or at high revs just comes up and oil always ok.i think its an over sensitive sensor.as long as its kept topped up and checked regularl it ill be fine :y

I had that on my old 3.0 on the motorway, after an oil and filter change it seemed to have stopped doing it

Mine does it to must be the sensor cause it always tells me to check oil even when it is fine.

Mine says this all the time, but when i check it, its usually nice and level and evenly spread over the footpath, sump, cradle and exhaust, must seal that dipstick tube.............. ::)
