Hi there just bought another omega and was surprised to find its registered March 05 is that rare. I haven't seen a 05 omega before. It's 2.2 manual gls and did a great run home of over 500 miles without any problems at all. Now parked between my 03 elite estate and my 97 2.5td elite auto.

Omega General Help / vibration over 60mph

hi i have been suffering with an annoying vibration that comes in over 60 - 65 mph it is very bad at times but not thru the steering more whole car so far ive had all wheels balanced  tried different wheels replaced idle arm steering trackrods rear wishbonebushes fronts are already poly for a couple of years full alignment after but only marginally better. wheel bearings have been checked too. can anyone shed any light on this as im beginingto loose faith in car. thanks eric

Hi I have front springs for a omega numbers 74703001 and 74703002 they are slightly different lengths and from what I can get is they need fitted to correct side of car. Can anyone tell me which is for off side and near side thanks Eric

General Car Chat / new project omega

Hi all just getting started with sorting out a new build. So far I have sourced a good solid car, doors, bonnet, bootlid, wings, prodrive spoiler, full irmscher kit twin rear exhaust box, my main trouble was I could only get a cdx diesel manual but I am going to build it to v6 elite. Already have had it media blasted round the front along sills rear arches and rear panel, all rear suspension arms frame and front suspension calipers hubs etc  all now treated with anti corrosion zinc based primer and  then painted in black. Have sourced a good 3.2 elite loom but want to check it out and rewrap before  fitting it in car. Still have to change fuel lines fuel tank etc. Have new front and rear shocks and new irmscher springs to install on the rebuild.  Awaiting the rolling shell going to get painted so I can begin reassembly.  So anybody any thiughts on things I should do while stripped out. Omega General Help / O2 sensor fault

Hi have had a O2 sensor fault come on the ecu reads as O2 sensor low bank 1 sensor 2, i am guessing its the post cat sensor but need to know for sure but dont know which bank is which any help would be great thanks Eric cheers

General Car Chat / Memory front seat, fold flat function.

 :yHi guys project I had in mind for a while as vauxhall didn't think I would need a fold down front seat in my elite, and make it full memory, took a bit of time to source bits and pieces needed to assemble it. But finally took it in hand and have it sorted. Works a treat was awkward getting tilt working as shafts have different splines for electric adjustable and manual knob adjust, and also making sure that position encoders all were orientated correctly. Had to buy new side piece for seat at tilting hinge. As had got cracked in previous car was only 2poundsnew from vauxhall. Seat switch was pig to dismantle and flip 180 and resolder all switches and wires but now have one off seat that's practical and missus always gets her seat exactly where she wants it, bonus!!! Eric

Omega General Help / difficult to start from cold

hi have a 2.6 elite with lpg conversion, was running fine until about a month ago when i reckon i got a bad feed of petrol coming home, may be coinsidence, but only seemed to start from then, have check with pedal trick and my local garage and the only problem is i sometimes have fuel trim fault the guy the dealer reckoned it could be from the lpg kit, have changed the fuel filter and since changed the plugs which where quite white, but still having to crank the engine for about 5 to 10 sec's before she fires up runs perfect after pulls well and is running smooth, no problems switching to lpg or back, and has only 129k on the motor so should be good for a few more miles yet, hope you can help with any thoughts cheers Eric
