Replaced the nearside door mirror glass with a spare from my stocks after I clipped a green wheelie bin that was overhanging a pavement on a country road

The joys of motoring ::) ::) :D ;)

Not when you have a large truck coming towards you on a narrow country lane and had to brake in towards the pavement to avoid him, and the mirror clipped the bin.  Better to lose a mirror than have a head on eh?! ::) ::) ::)

That's the thing Dave, this wheelie bin was not in the road but with it's hinge part overhanging the edge of the pavement.  As I say though it was only a piece of glass that was damaged as the wing mirror swung into the side of the car, but I was lucky not to lose the front near side door window that it banged against or end up head on into the bloody truck who did not slow down at all!  >:( >:(:D ;)

Agree with you there Lizzie. The amount of vans/trucks, cars as well for that matter, who drive around the C roads here in Suffolk as though they never expect to meet another vehicle is quite amazing. >:(

yes, quite a few narrow twisty country roads around by me ,pretty much every trip out I shout swear words at the drivers of other cars who are well over the line  >:( :( (not that can hear me  ;D)
one good thing about the Omega is it has good brakes and responsive steering for a lard arse tank  :)
I have front and rear dash cams and adding them to all the fleet over time
me and Mrs Builder review each others footage of near misses with other dicks on the road on a regular basis  :D
(yes, before you say it , I include myself in that "dick" statement  :P)
I have complete spare mirror assemblies in stock , ready for the inevitable  ::)

likewise when we were in the Lakes the other week on single track roads with passing places ..... even had a couple of clowns that for some reason thought I'd stopped to admire the view when I was waiting for on coming traffic, they thought they'd try & go passed me  ??? ???
