Missfire codes.
« on: 16 December 2020, 19:07:40 »

I have 300, 301, 303 and 305 codes appearing,
I have a coil on the way, (genuine bosch) as its been 5 years since i last changed it, and i shall check the plugs, although they arent that old, and look at the wiring.
Can anyone tell me why it happens when cold, and when the engine is warm it drives normally?

Also i have the Mot on friday, and the coil isnt coming till saturday.
Will the engine light be a problem when it comes on during the test?

Water dripping from the scuttle onto the coil and eventually cooking off as the engine warms up.

Get the car nice and hot about an hour before the MoT. Pull the ecu plugs/battery for 15 mins or so and that should reset the light. Then get it tested. As long as the emissions are in limits, it should be fine.

So the mot was put back because of covid, hasnt been done yet.
I replaced the coil and it drives fine, but missfires or runs rough at idle. problem clears at about 2,000 revs and its fine.
Eml flashes for a bit then goes out but willl reappear, still showing 300, 301,303.
When the engine is warm the problem seems to dissapear.

Help!

I ment say the car drives far better than it did, the main difference is the eml flashes, where as before it stayed on.
