The genuine VX stuff is pink and very thin (like water) but its what vx use in there current manual box cars. Fully synthetic and about 5 pound a litre. you need about 1.3 litres

Thanks tony i'll take it back and while its up on the ramp i'll have a look at the mountings for myself .To be honest i think one of the box.s they fitted is faulty. going to ask them to replace the whole thing or at least the back box. The guys down there are pretty good. I've been using them for years and they've always been very helpful. its just typical that i cant get the exhaust to make the noise when its on there ramp. i'll have to try and get one of them to come for a test drive so they can hear it for themselves.

Omega General Help / New exhaust (horrible noise)
« on: 25 March 2010, 16:04:21 »
Had a new exhaust fitted by formular 1 in jan 2010. its been giving me problems ever since..
The problem is noise...I have to drive about 20 miles to work on the motorway but after a short time at a constant speed the back box sounds horrible (worse than normal) but once i park up and wait for a few minutes then start the car it sounds fine. I've taken it back to them a couple of times but as its only a couple of miles away  it sounds fine when its on thier ramp.. even if you let the engine get nice and hot and rev it up a bit.
When i am driving down the motorway a only get the noise when i'm accelerating. the noise seems to be louder at about 2000 - 2500 rpm.
it was the two middle box's and the back box that they fitted.
Any ideas?

Omega General Help / New remote key fob (programming)
« on: 25 March 2010, 15:47:58 »
I need a new remote fob for my miggy. They are only £30 pounds at the VX dealer. but my question is....Do you need the car pass to program it to my car or can tech-2 do it using the old fob (which still works).
I did get the car pass with my car but cant seem to find it for love nor money. I've searched the whole house/garage and car.
thanks

Omega General Help / Re: Gearbox oil

Yes under 2.0Lt. just fill to filler plug level then take a little out.  Needs to be just under the plug level. Genuine VX is cheap enough. About 4 pounds plus vat on TC for a litre bottle (i think.... its been a while since i bought any) fully synthetic, very thin and pink. Flush with a 3rd bottle

Yes they seem to be but i want to try and sort mine if i can. i.ve had a new gearbox, new clutch and new flywheel. big improvement so far. just bought some new oil, going to change it tomorrow. One thing though the oil is the latest spec from VX but when you poor it out the bottle it seems very watery and pink. i thought gearbox,s were like back axle's and needed a very thick oil (EP80 or 90)
its fully synthetic too
