I remember these. Shaft drive. A 3 cylinder version of the huge XS1100.

Found the simplest was a small blob of Gorilla Super Glue which is non drip or runny.Once it touches you have a little time to adjust then it sets solid

just repaired mine and behind the rear bumper was a mess along with the inner wheel arch but all good now
