Facelift Radiator, Condensor and Fan Removal
« on: 10 May 2018, 09:20:10 »

Morning all,

Last night i start to strip my 2.5td for repairs and the condenser was knackered so just cut the pipes and removed it, but when i go to reinstall is there a guide on how to remove/install?

Its a right pig to remove with the double fans being there aswell

Any help appreciated

Sam

From what I remember, TD is no different to other Omegas.

Can't remember if the main cooling rad needs to come out - not sure there is enough room otherwise

I took the rad out when I did mine recently.  Seeing as the condenser pipes come around the side of the radiator I don't think it can be done any other way.

Yes, took the rad out when I replaced mine. Don't remember any particular problems. I took the opportunity to give the rad a real good flush using some proprieary cleaner, I think Fernox or similar used in heating systems. :y

:y  Yep, my fans came out as well when did my condenser (Well, Daz took em out  :y).

I was lucky to get a new genuine GM Condenser which was perfect fit - Non GM ones I am lead to believe can be a pain  :-\ (cost was a bit more but not much so I went Genuine Delphi GM one.)

Where did you get your condenser from and is it the same as a 2.2 petrol?

Same across the range iirc :y

Just be mindful that they tend not to come with the drier included, so budget accordingly if you're fussy... Unless it's clearly Donald, simply reuse the old one :y

Is it best to put new o rings in at the same time?

Any make of condenser better than the others for better fitting and quality?

That is entirely up to you ;)

Personal preference for radiator related parts in Nissens, just shop around for price :y

They do look very well made. Where did you get your o rings seals from Al?
