Omega Fault Code P1625 without Limp Mode!

Hi,
For the last few months my 2003 2.2 Omega Petrol Estate has been exhibiting the Orange EMU light. There has been no loss of performance; and, in fact, I have just done a 500+mile holiday with no problems. Also code P1870 crops up. I have looked briefly at the items next to the battery and have no idea which to suspect, if any.
Any ideas please?

Camsensor. Replace with genuine one froma genuine dealer that you genuinely have to walk into :y

Hmmm, I'd love for it to be the cam sensor, I really, really would.  But the symptoms and fault codes don't really match (as P1870 is a TCM code, and the TCM couldn't give a rats arse about the cam sensor).  Its not unheard of for cam sensors to throw a spurious code, but I doubt it would throw a P1870 in the TCM:

P1870 - Torque Convertor Clutch stuck off - Only detectable when solenoid is energised, and must be present for 2s. Result is limp mode, and EML on.


Cam sensor symptoms do include a 4.5k rpm limit, shitty starting, and 9 times out of 10 a P0340 code at the point when the EML is on (but this one often deletes itself quite quickly after a restart or 2)

Indeed.  But that doesn't mean every fault is a cam sensor fault :)

Opps, missed the code in the title. Another TCM code, related to output drivers.


Given this, I'd start by checking loom down to and including the main plug on the passenger side of the box (not the range switch, the round connector on the box itself)
