Newbie Welcome Area / Vauxhall Omega 2.2 2001 needs to be saved

Please forgive this if it’s in wrong place.
I have a Omega with MOT due up end of this week and I need it to go.

94k gold with head gasket gone jan 15 new rad belts rollers and pump.
Had new centre cat done may this test.
Good tyres ..previous advisory stone chip in windscreen not in field of vision

Has a little rust in near side rear arch .


It’s off for scrap Friday if no takers Oct 6.

I would rather another member has it and if there’s a few quid in it great.

Hi all..you've all been kind enough to help before but I need your advice again.
I have a 2001 3.2 auto estate .

A few weeks back the lights on auto selector didn't all light up when in respective gear then they all came on !!..then after a while if in D .light would match up and all ok.

Then about a day a go when in D ,didn't feel like it had changed down and struggled to pull away as if in too higher gear..then got TC light on.sport mode wouldn't engage either but box works fine if manually used.

Today whilst driving along engine just cut out!
Wouldn't restart .
Left 10 mins then it started and stopped again ..cut out.
Towed home and then it started again ok.
Tick over not as even as before IE wandered between 500 rpm and 800 rpm.

My question is it reminds me of crankshaft sensor fault and I wondered if it was a mixture of crankshaft sensor and the fact that selector box needs cleaning ..are the two items connected and could this be throwing up gear box/TC issues?

Also what's the service interns for cam belts..hope someone can advise on this issue as I enjoy the car ..mileage is 108k

Hi I hope someone can help!!
I have a 3.2 V6 estate 2001 with 110k miles .
Just recently box has not shifted down to first when stopping so struggles to pull away quickly .
If I manually select gears then fine.
Also sport mode will not work .
If I stop switch off and then restart its fine ..all works!
Irrespective if weather it still happens .
We have moved to a house with a bumpy muddy track and I wonder if it could be selector switch fault..haven't had any fault code pop up...any ideas appreciated.
Have filter and oils done on gearbox circa 85k

I hope someone can help.
I have a 2001 Facelift 3.2 Omega.Mileage 80K.

When I start the car usually from cold,the car starts fine ,runs for 10 seconds then stops.
Spanner flashes.

If i turn off then start again engine starts.

Info screen defaults to German as well.

It occasionally does this when warm.
I also have engine light on and codes suggest the precat issue.


Have checked codes and i have
1613
1612

0430
0420

1700.

Its never ticked over smoothly even though all breathers clean,throttle body cleaned,plugs etc are good.
Its had a crank sensor fitted last year.
All fluids are good and no leaks.

I wondered if anyone had a simliar problem and if it could be an ECU issue?
I have checked chip is secure in key and replaced battery in fob.
Or is it all a coincidence  and crank sensor is playing up.

Omega General Help / omega 3.2 facelift engine stops/cuts out

Dear All,
I wonder if any of you on this fabulous forum might be able to help.I have a 2001 omega 3.2 facelift elite 68k miles and its driving me nuts.
After I got the car,i changes both cam covers.WHen i bought the car the tick over was slightly lumpy but sat around 500rpm.
There was some oil in wells on one side and scuttles were full of water.Cleaned scuttle,re-sealed cover around windscreen and wipers and followed all the good advice on the site.
Then a few weeks back..the engine just cut out.Left it 10 minds and started again.
Fault codes 0335,0340,1500  i think from memory.
Changed crank shaft sensor with gen VX part correct for year/engine.
ECU codes checked at Roadrunner,Chester and all was great for 2 weeks
This time codes 0560 1500 0340.
Ive checked /cleaned throttle body,cleaned all breathers,checked for any vac leaks ,ceck all plugs are clean and wiring not pulled,as best i can.]
Ive also made sure crank sensor and cam sensor are both seated correctly.
Ive also noticed that  when putting all electrics on when at tick over,revs drop to point where engine might stop,lights dim then engine returns to 500 ish rpm...it never seems to increase.This glitch is 1/2 seconds almost as if there isnt enough power in the system.
So basically i still have the engine stopping on occasion,cranking it repeated sometime starts...its just like the crank sensor is failing but no code this time...sesnor is a month old genuine part from VX
Has anyone got any ideas...any advice or help would be appreciated!!
