Personally I found the resin ones to be poor, I bought these and fitted them, no worse than the originals and should last the life of the car now, certainly been OK in one of mine for the last 3 years.

Been a while since I added any posts to this thread, car has had an easier life since the 530D appeared on the drive a couple of years ago but does still get used for local trips and the odd run out to blow the cobwebs away.

As per the recent wanted add, I had to obtain a second hand rear screen as Autoglass etc apparently couldn't obtain one from any supplier :( I guess these type of parts sourcing problems are to be expected on a car of this age and while I have a shed full of spares I never thought to cut the rear screen out of the last Omega I scrapped!  ;D

Omega General Help / Re: NCDC2013 a question for the boffins
« on: 23 February 2024, 20:23:34 »
it wont take a date does the time no issue but every time I set the date it defaults back to 1 Dec 2004 silly but it is annoying when it comes up on the display

The one in my black car does that, but the older I get the less I seem to be bothered what the time and date is  ;D

the second is a pain someone tried to remove the head unit from the car without the right keys and pulled the plastic facia plate away from the head and damaged some of the clips so it does not line up right and all input has to be via the steering wheel controls any one know of a head unit repair guru or maybe a dead head unit I can work with

I have a few NCDC's here, every one will have damaged clips on the facias though. :(

Yeh i'm watching that one while I wait to see if Insurance will pay for the fitting.  :y

Was wondering if the windscreen fitters over the road from Serek would remove the remnants of the old one and fit this one....
I wouldn't be waiting, the hens tooth might just disappear.
I've messaged the seller about collection so we'll see what happens. I also mentioned about watching out for scammers from ooop North trying to gazump the sale :y :D
