Yes, I had noted that. However I'd mentally filed it alongside "she has my full support" which can be roughly translated as "she'll be down the job centre by this time next week"  .

I suspect it's a reasonable way to get her out of the way without having to face the public fallout from sacking a member of your shadow cabinet 2 days before an election. My prediction is that whether labour win or lose  she'll be back to backbench obscurity and snuggled up next to portillo on the daily politics sofa by the end of the month.
