Type 2 diabetes is, in the vast majority of cases, self-inflicted. Got no time for them. The powers that be should devote as much energy, finance, etc to type 1 IDD`s.

As (on some level) is almost everything that lands one in hospital. Overweight? Drink alcohol? Smoke? Take less exercise than you should? Sorry chum, no NHS money for you. Total 'dangle berries', go down that road and you only end up treating healthy people.

For me, either treat everyone, free, at the point of need, or pack the whole thing up and treat nobody. Otherwise you're just making arbitrary choices.

Where have I mentioned that they shouldn`t be treated?? The point I was making, which you have obviously overlooked (or missed due to the height of your horse) was for the media/medical establishment/ do-gooders etc to devote as much coverage pertaining to Type 1, notwithstanding other ailments, chronic or acute.

On a more general political note. I'm currently watching Daily politics on BBC2, and Digby Jones is showing Labours Barry Gardiner to be the ignorant moron that he really is. Its quite painful but very enjoyable to watch.

In other news, interview with Bo Jo on radio 4 yesterday and he clearly has no idea what's in the tories' queen speech on several topics, and just tries to bungle his way through. Strangely enough my media feeds, the tv and the newspapers are not full of this today. 

Wonder if it's because he isn't in labour government, isn't black, isn't a woman, or all 3? Alternatively, perhaps everyone missed it

The reason the media outlets aren't full of it today is that they were full of it yesterday. They were on the story like rats up a drainpipe, almost before he had finished speaking.
