I loved a XF-S that was for sale locally, I sat in one and started her up, 3.0 diesel  8)

Super comfy place to be, very nice interior.

Trouble is it lacked practicality, mainly the boot, could not do duel role of family car. Once I get MrsT her mummy bus, I would strongly consider switching to one.

The boot is big :y......rear passenger leg room is piss poor unless the driver is Ronnie Corbett or Richard Hammond. :-\

I would almost go as far as to say that the Jaguar XF is more a two plus two than a genuine 4/5 seat car.

Eh? I thought the boot was seriously small!

Could not get the pram in, not even close to going in.

Well, I suppose when all your roads are as smooth as a Bavarian milkmaid' wossits, you can afford to build them that way  :y

So is there no "new" xfr

Not that I'm aware of.

I believe Jaguar are going to drop the 5.0V8 S/C is the smaller XE though. Should be fun. :y

It's an odd shape with a 'lump' part way back.

It's also a very narrow the entry, which was the killer for me.  :'(

So to summarise/summarize.

The majority of 'right thinking' people on here (including a girl) think a sunroof is a noisy  leaky piece of nostalgia that is best left in 1983.

I agree. So no need to travel to see the car. :y

.......but I would like to see it. :-\

Sunroof is neither here nor there... consider it a free item of whimsy that cost the original buyer a small holiday :y

Long holiday on an E34 estate. And the holiday probably lasted longer than the sunroof worked.
That was the only car I've never used the sunroof, mainly because like most of them it didn't work. And a quick look at the mechanism meant that I jiggled it about until the roof was shut, and disconnected the switch so it didn't move again.

Yep, on the Skoda the roof (the entire roof is glass) is a £1200 option.. I have one, but only because they had the car in stock and I didn't have to pay the £1200!

That said I do actually like it as it makes the car feel considerably more 'roomy' (and it's pretty roomy to begin with).

I love Sunroofs use them all the time, even in winter, mainly on tilt though, having said I do like fresh air, I probably have my drivers and rear windows open about a couple inches as well.

If I had to chose over Sunroof or AC, Sunroof for me.

I have a sunroof on the Elite and it isn't noisy when closed and it doesn't leak..... but in saying that I don't use it.  ::)  I do occasionally give it a test run to make sure it still works.  :y

Remind me again what their purpose is.  :-\  On tilt nothing happens, unless you travel in reverse at high speed  ::) and when fully open it creates a drumming in your head and you get a burnt head sat in traffic.
If I saw a nice car and it happened to have a sunroof it wouldn't put me off though.

Go on, you know you want to.  :)
