Done over 1,000 so far, half of that is town work. Suspect it will regenerate on motorway run to Portsmouth next week.

Why? Don’t overthink it, just make sure it gets a run. Weekly I would say.

If the fans come on after you’ve switched the ignition off, you’ve stopped it halfway through.

That happens to me at least once a week, I'd say. Stinks like burning tyres, too.

I just ignore it.. it only has to last a couple more years till the end of the PCP agreement and then it's someone else's problem :-X

Probably just perfectly normal paranoia of having new tech in a car that is a) expensive if it goes wonky and b) the recipient of a lot of bad press. The VW treated you well so you're more trusting this time around.  :y

Off the line performance is poor, feels sluggish/slow. But once rolling say even 30mph+ it's decent enough. Motorway 50-90 range it's actually not bad. But there is no way I could live with this power output/power band on my commuter.
Its a (relatively) small diesel with an autobox, an awful combo.

That's whats hammering performance and economy.

That said, over the last tank, I managed a smidgen over 30mpg ;D
