Yesterday - checked diff oil level, which was ok, and then washed the remnants of this years harvest off it.  ::)

Failed an MOT broken drivers side front spring  :-\

Got the strut off, just pondering how to compress it without hurting myself....
ROBUST Spring compressors ::)

Fixed that for you. If you don't have any compressors, then don't attempt the job.
As you've got the strut off, why not take it and your new spring to a garage who has the proper equipment, and get them to do it for you? That's five minutes work; it's worth offering a donation to their tea fund.

If you havn't got spring compressors then this is a +1 from me!  :y

I've managed to order a complete secondhand replace replacement for £26 so that should sort the MOT.

Have also order some ATP springs so will take your advise and get a garage to swap those in for me  :y

Disassembled the genuine plastic dash on the Mundano to replace the worn switches with good 2nd hand that I've collected from ebay and reassembled.  :y

It's given the interior a lift!  8)

Nothing. Absolutely nothing all week.

I did, however, watch Mrs TB put air in the Battlebus tyres, due to my immobility again  >:(

Gave the ProjectMV6 a decent run.

After 2 hours / 100 miles of dual carriageway plus some twisty & hilly bits the average mpg display now reads 22.6 mpg. (an improvement)

Found myself pondering the fact that the AR35 (4L30E) is basically a 3 speed box with overdrive.

There is a big gap between 3rd & 4th which really spoils the experience between 45 & 50mph.

4th gear only comes alive at 80mph+. With cruise set at 70mph the box changes down on most of the uphill gradients. Set it to 80mph and the thing purrs along.

Check the autobox firmware versions, as there may be (partial) cures for that.

4th gear only comes in above about 128mph, unless cruising. Apparently ::)

My code reader says "system name/engine type GS8211/Y32SE"
My recollection is that GS8211 was the final update so I will just have to drive a bit faster ;D

Oops - on reading through some old posts I see that GS8211 is the model of ECU.
My code reader also says "Supplier ECU software version number: 8" (so still the final version that was released for a 3.2)

Correct, v8 is the last for GS8211 ECU :(.  It never got the extra refinements that the GS820 got for smoother changes and better change points.

At least you know you are on the best available for the 3.2 auto

Insurance shopping again... that's to say, got those pesky Meerkats to do it :D

Ignoring the added breakdown cover, new policy is half the price of my renewal ' invitation' for identical cover :o

Pays to shop around ;)

Esp as many give cashback options for even just doing the search.

Then use a cashback site to get a quote from the specified firm directly, and assuming its not bastardised (some are), buy direct for cashback.
