Well in terms of the racing, I'll take a Corvette C7.R please, thanks ;D but back in the realms of reality .. we stayed on the 1st Tickets secured campsite at Bleu Nord and in our little compound there were probably 30 or so cars.. a few stand out - Ferrari 360 Stradale, several Porsches (996 911, 997.2 Targa, 997 Turbo, fairly sure there was a Cayman S), a Bentley Continental GT, a V8 Vantage, an MGB, C3 Corvette.. the list goes on. Oh, and my mates H2 Hummer with straight pipes carrying four of them and all their stuff, plus my 645Ci which seemed hopelessly outclassed ;D

When I used to go regularly, we used to stay at Chanteloup, along with the Ultima owner's club <druel>. Those boys always had some stories to tell. ;D

Oh, and the Ascari team, or Escargot, as the locals used to call them. :D

The folks I went with have stayed there too, a couple of years running - these days they prefer to camp (almost) on-site so everything is walking distance (well, aside from the town itself, but that's just a tram away) and nobody has to drive back to the Chateau and stay sober ;D

I wouldn't want to stay on the public camping, mind, that seems to be packed with nutters and idiots.. the security guard and large fence keeps them out of the 1st Tickets compound thankfully  :D

Yep, the nice thing about Chenteloup is that you can leave all the dust and nutters behind, have a warm shower, plonk your @rse in the swimming pool until you've cooled off and then prop up the bar being careful not to ogle the barmaids too much (referring to your previous comments about 18-25 year old  French females) because most of them appear to be the owner's daughters.  :-[

Taken big blue for mot.....and now we wait....

Sailed through with no advisories.

Sadly this was lies.

Had a very apologetic phone call. They printed off last years by mistake and it failed on corrosion and brake pipes. :-(

Should have given them the Bob Monkhouse response "I'm sorry, but your first answer is the only one which I can accept". ;D

Did nothing on the Omega, except driving from A to B and back. It is much too hot to do any work.  :o

Saturday looks better.

Ah, did some protection against hail. The sky looks very strange....

Charged the battery and fired up my old Range Rover for the first time in 4 years.  :y

Drove it out of the brambles and took some photographs of it for SWMBO to add to the ebay listing  :'(

(search ebay for 'Range Rover Restoration Project' if you want to see the pictures....)

My one has already had the very area in the first picture welded up so god knows what its like now. and the nearside just underneath the holes on yours in the third pic mine is slowly disappearing. it just needs someone to do it properly and for a decent price.

Or take it to a certain establishment for beardy types and Hornby lovers just outside Nottingham, enjoy a chip butty and a brew, and watch the master at work ;D
