Changed the air filter on TBE...   ...and promptly broke the coolant hose clip.  Fortunately I had a spare.
How and why? Too much beer? :o

Simply lifting the pipe to one side provides ample clearance ::)

Granted, changing the air filter isn't as easy as, say an E39 5 Series, but it doesn't warrant dismantling the cooling system ???
The little hose from coolant bottle is normally removed, as it makes it easier.  Assuming you don't shag the clip ;D
Well let that be a lesson then. Only ever needs undoing to remove the rad...

Discovered its losing a pint of coolant in 200 miles, and as its persisting down no chance of looking for where it is .... although the HBV will always be most likely .....   :(

Ran it for 2 hours and was starting to despair, no sign of any leaks anywhere, then ...  on the umpteenth selection of full hot to full cold a single drop of water appeared on a bolt head underneath the HBV .. and quickly disappeared again, 10 minutes later I managed to get another one, again on going full hot to full cold, so it looks like it IS the HBV.

Question is now, do I change it and risk destroying the skin on my hands and arms as well as filling the swearbox within the hour ... or do I give Serek a ring and have it done by an expert with minimum damage to my epidermis ...... ??  (I think I know which way I'm heading ..... :) )

For the 5s it (normally) takes, I'd always recommend.  You wouldn't believe how many (not just Omegas) I've seen where the filter was correctly seated due to similar access muck ups

Last week I nearly melted away inside the Caravan. Bloody heat inside. So I decided to take an AC service. After a couple of Euros the AC works perfect since Friday. :)

What should I say.

On Sunday it starts to rain. Actually 16°C, heavy showers. I turned up the panel to 23°C. Heating is working very good. >:(

Booked it in to Serek's ... decided that his expert hands are far better than mine and less likely to be scarred for life ..... :)

Changed the shocks and then I decided to order a new set of toyo tires T1-R since my current tires are already worn out.

Past few days changed: radiator, coolant bridge washers, thermostat, electric water pump and hoses for the airpump pumping air into exhaust in startup. Added a pre-heater to coolant system.
And of course cleaned every single piece that were out of the engine  :y

Spent a leisurely half hour changing the alternator on the 525...

It works, and is shiny, but hasn't fixed the gearbox issue. Same codes still present >:(

Car can go as it is...

Put the finishing touches to 2003 Corsa  wipers.

One wiper spindle seized rock solid the other partially seized. Once out sand paper to remove major rust then back together with liberal amounts of grease.

Moves like a Swiss watch. :y

I thought Field Marshal to be a modest and unassuming title. :)
