emmisions warning light
« on: 29 October 2015, 21:49:21 »

The e w l has come on
I take it this is a fault with the lambda sensor? Am I right?
If so if I don't get a new sensor fitted what will happen?
Car seems to be running fine

It's a 3.2 engine
Does that matter?

Matters a lot....

On a 3.2 the emissions light tends to come on with 320 / 340 codes as the precats lose efficiency.

Nothing to do with the sensors they are doing the job perfectly.

The cure, if it is this, is to move the lambda sensors from in front of the main cat to behind it, Im sure there is a guide explaining whats required.

If you can do the pedal trick and confirm the codes....

...and if it was not a 3.2 say a 2.2 or something else, could be a very different issue. Hence always good to know exact details.

Worth updating your profile with engine/spec details  :y

Voila http://www.omegaowners.com/forum/index.php?topic=90581.0

unfortunately that's the limit of my French, and the pedal trick doesn't work on a 2.2.

Failing cam sensors seems to do trigger all sorts of daft faults on a 2.2  :-\

All as per pm sent... one dodgy replacement gearbox is unlucky, two is almost certainly a cam sensor ::)
