Title: Replaced Rear Seat Belt Anchorage
Post by: Lizzie Zoom on 03 July 2018, 10:54:48
Last Thursday I had to order a replacement rear seat belt anchorage in beige, but managed to order the wrong one.  Instead of the one with two 'live' red button clips, part no. 90493614, I ordered, and received, the one with the 'dummy' clip for the central belt, part no.  90493616 :-[ :-[ :-[ :-[

After swearing to myself when it arrived just one day after ordering, I quickly arranged to send the wrong one back and obtain the correct unit; that arrived yesterday, along with credit for the returned unit.  The great guy I dealt with for everything was Steve of omegaspareparts.com. via Ebay.

On the forum he has been mentioned before for his wonderful service and friendly, very helpful, manner, and he certainly did not disappoint me, with me giving 100% positive feedback to add to his existing 100% positive rating.  I am also to warrant a 25% discount on any future orders.

A great result all round! 8) 8) 8) :y

He has always been spot on... I have generally found dealing with other commercial breakers to a bit disappointing in comparison  :y

Don't let people sit in the cheap sets  :o
the cheap seats behind the driver attract a lower class of clientele, with "no respect"for nice things
kids, relatives, hitch hikers with axes etc .....

Cheap seats in mine these days are[when we go out for the day]occupied by Dog taking her ease.At the end of the day it's a car and as such does what I need it to do or it's of no use to me :y

I'd imagine your dog doesn't half eat sticky lollies and leave the rest on the seat ,or own an axe ?   ;D

I've not noticed her with an axe in her paws no :D No sticky lollies either 8) Only thing she does leave on the seats are dog hairs, but as they're leather seats[the only material for a proper cars interior]they're easily dealt with. :-*

no worries then  :y dog hair won't stick to vauxhall branded cow skin  ;D
I myself do not have a "leather fetish" , and much prefer the plush velour
and sat comfy in the heat of today without burning my arms on animal skin  8)
I guess you can blame the dog AND the leather when passing wind  ;D

Well of course the dog gets the blame for that every time :y and she's in no position to deny it was her :D ;D ;D ;D

Mine has been murder to travel in recently with the leather seats and no aircon. AIrcon is getting sorted Saturday. I couldn't face sitting in the queues in and out of Silverstone on Sunday without it.

Its already shit here. What is the fascination of watching cars drive around circles.  Now if it were a race, I could understand....

I'm now in full hermit mode until Tues/Wed next week.

It may or may not be a decent race, but the cars will be mind bendingly fast, and that in itself is worth seeing.
Im also a fan of Hamilton - he is number 3 on my personal list of greats - so look forward to seeing him in action, and hopefully winning.
There are of course quite a few other races too before the F1 race.  :)

Didn't look overly impressive in Austria.

Put any of the top ten drivers in a Mercedes or a Ferrari and they would win races.

I am STILL finding dog hairs from over a year ago from when I was taking my blind neighbour and his lovely Labrador to visit his wife in hospital every weekday for 4 months - the buildup of his dog hairs defies description, especially as it was getting warmer all the time and he was moulting.
Of course, if anyone here has a good way of getting the bl**dy things out of the seat material, PLEASE let me know..... ???

cheap sellotape or packing tape or duct tape , wrapped  round your hand backwards ,turning your hand into a sticky "dog hair removal device" :y

may take your blind neighbour a while to get all the hairs out your car though  :P

That's a good idea, Dave, but he who made the mess should clear it up, and I don't reckon my chances of taping up a big Labrador like that!  :D

He romped off into the distance until his team forgot to bring him into the pits, then his car started losing power, then it lost all its power.  ;)

He came into the pits for brand new tyres and then proceeded to do SFA. :)

I'm not saying he isn't a good driver but I agree with STMO when he says almost any of the drivers would win in a Mercedes or Ferrari ............. with the exception of Kimi, who just 'turns up' for an hour or so for a leisurely drive and a million pounds. :)

After his pitstop his car began losing power, which is why he could do sfa.  ;)
He has been quicker than every team mate he ever had, including Alonso, when he was a rookie and Alonso was being hailed as one of the all time greats.
More importantly though, he does it the right way. He doesn't cheat, play games, prefoessional fouls etc. like most top drivers, particularly German drivers. He is a genuine sportsman as well as the best driver since Senna.  :)
I don't believe Kimi just turns up for an hour or so to earn £££££££££££.
He doesn't need the money and Ferrari wouldn't pay it to him if he had that attitude. Vettel has gone to Ferrari on the condition the team is built around him and he is top dog.
Its not to the ridiculous levels it was when Schumacher was there, but the bulk of the effort goes into Vettels wants and needs.
A mistake imo, as on a level playing field, I doubt he would be in the top five.
He only left Red Bull when Riciardo turned up and started making him look a bit ordinary. Exactly the same reason Alonso left McLaren first time round.
Hamilton hasn't really endeared himself that well to the great British public, and the British always prefer someone who could win and should win everything, but just doesn't get the luck.
History though will show him to be one of the very greatest drivers. Possibly even the greatest, depending on how the rest of his career pans out.

I have found them first class the two times I've used them. :y :y :y

The second time was for beige frayed rear seat belt courtesy of one of my dogs testing the efficiency of his teeth. :-[ :-[ :-[

Enjoy it while you can, as the rumour mill around these parts for the past few months is that the BRDC are trying to terminate the contract to run the British F1 GP, and Silverstone is the only viable venue for it in this fair isle.

Donington could run it with a few changes to ruin what is a lovely track. The purist in me would love to see it back at Brands, but that could never happen now.
Personally, I don't like Silverstone. Never have.

The link is that I would be faster in an Omega than Kimi is in a Ferrari.

You're right......he doesn't 'need' the money but for a couple of hours work even wealthy people get out of bed for £1,000,000.

I'd do it for half what they pay the 'sulki scandi'. :)

Apart from the fact its a complete pain in the arse, I liked the previous Silverstone, as (genuine) overtaking is possible.  I think the new layout is somehow missing something.

I think when Silverstone is dropped, the British GP will be.

Im getting past caring tbh, once Hamilton decides to call it a day. The current formula is truly awful, and the new one being planned will probably be worse, using technology to try and solve the problems caused by technology.
The original Silverstone, although bland and characterless, was a circuit for men with bollix like water melons.

I will never forget Keke Rosberg lapping the slightly damp track at over 160mph,with a slowly deflating rear tyre, then stepping out of the car and sparking up a ciggy.

The good old days.......
