There might be a spare not too far from you :-\

Only question is how/why did it break...

There's one less than four foot away from it..... but its fitted in the silver car!

However the system on newer cars seem to set by default to 'activated' mode whenever the ignition has been off, which would do my tree in.
It's like being a pilot, I guess. Going through the cockpit drill before setting off - lane assist off, engine stop / start off, auto hold on..... :D

You can thank some selfish arseholes in Wolsburg for that!

Since the emissions scandal, the legislation was changed such that the car has to default to the modes used during approvals at every ignition cycle. That means driving modes, any ADAS functions, safety functions etc. Just wait until you get a 24MY car which badgers you every time there is a speed limit change or you go 1mph over the speed limit.....you quickly learn the to knock that one off at every ignition cycle  :y

Coded the stupid start stop malarky off mine, Only kicks in if I have it in Eco Plus mode..... Which I never do!

Well I was supposed to be taking the black car for a Cambelt at SOS but found the rear screen smashed this morning :(
Great  :( Life can be very tedious sometimes.
Yep, but you have no choice but to get on with it so may as well just shrug it off, pay the £75 excess and move onto the next task hoping it doesn't cost you any money!  :y

Thanks, I've gone through the same thought process as you, Manoil kept appearing in my searches based on spec / price but this independent supplier seems a better alternative and also I like the idea of supporting a small business.

20L ordered :)

Think i'll stick with buying from a supplier in this Country to be honest, happy to buy from parts from Germany which aren't available here but Oil seems a bit overkill

So now the supply of GM 10W40 has, errrr, dried up, i've been looking for a cost effective alternative.

Kevin had mentioned a supplier on another thread and looking on their site it appears this would meet the spec:-

https://www.smithandallan.com/product/smith-allan-momentum-ss-10w-40-engine-oil-4141

Tempted to buy 20L at that price and see how it goes. Any thoughts or anyone used this before?

My E Class had it, but I never used it…………..

Don’t know what your E Class was like for parallel self parking but the BMW reverses in with one hell of a tight rake. It goes in at a steep angle and swings the front bumper in far closer to the vehicle in front than I’m happy with.  :o  That’s probably why I never use it, but in fairness it can park itself in a fairly tight space.  :)

Yeh agree with that, my 5 series does the same and it's a bit of a heart stopping moment!

Much is mentioned of the GM black sealant but according to those who worked at Ellesmere Port assembling the V6's, Loctite 5910 was used.

Anyway haven't you heard of climate change?  ???

That's why we haven't had a winter tyre thread recently.  :D
I've had to scrape the "global warming" off my windows many mornings  :P

The new tyres are B rated wet grip ,ready  for the return of persistent rain AFTER the ice age  :D
the compound seems "soft" so probably won't last long  :-\ but my rear tyres never last anyway ,
The rears always wear more on the inner edge (weight of the bodies in the boot  ::))
and i sack them off when they are down to 3 to 4 mm

but that's ok, tyres are a "consumable item"
i've got 3 sets of wheels for My omega  ;D
I get about 20,000 miles, or 12 months, out of my tyres. Mid range American thingies. Hard to make the front wheels let go on an auto.

Not that I'd want to, of course.

The Rainsports on the rear of my V70 have done at least 30,000 miles, maybe nudging 40,000 and they still have 5-6mm!  :y
V70 is FWD though so just towing the rears along.

Also, there are two types of rain sensors, for UV and non UV windscreen ( which I learned the hard way)
Believe that is a Tech II setting. I've had the same physical Sensor fitted to both standard and Heat Reflective windscreens without issue.
