Cars for Sale & wanted / Still wanted - 3.2 Omega Manual Saloon
« on: 03 January 2016, 02:18:52 »
Still looking...  Seen a green 3.0 MV6 manual on flea bay, but back arches gone and back doors too, would end up needing a full respray...

All the best chaps :)

Cars for Sale & wanted / Wanted - 3.2 Manual

I miss my two ex-plod Miggy's :(

I think the time has come to get back into the fold, hence my request!

If anyone has one that they're thinking of selling please let me know.  It must be a saloon, and a 3.2, and a manual box too.

I think I might have more luck finding Lord Lucan riding Shergar, but what the hey...

Good evening ladies and gents,

Very long time no speak.  Haven't been around much of late, and am very much a Omega-less at the mo - it's about 2yrs now since I let my ex-plod Nocturno Blue 3.2 go, and I do miss her :(

I've currently got an Astra convertible turbo (Z20LET), Vectra Elite turbo (Z20NET, the Saab-derived lump), and a '79 Honda Superdream CB400N that I've restored.

Hope you are all doing well :)

I bought an L-plate Volvo 440, 1.8 petrol, about 5yrs ago as a stop-gap whilst my Jeep Cherokee 2.5TD was having all four of it's heads skimmed...  >:(

Only paid £150 for the 440 - with 12months MOT, and some tax left.  Weren't in bad nick either - no rust, just lots of moss growing out of the window seals.  After a weekend's valeting (I'm sad like that), she looked like new.

I got the Jeep back, and gave the Volvo to my father in law.  He got 2 years out of it, but then the headgasket went.  Turns out the rad was leaking, but he never checked any of the fluid levels (tell-tale spot of anitfreeze on the drive, right over where he parked it before it died).

General Car Chat / Astra Z20LET Cambelt Request...
« on: 19 August 2012, 01:58:20 »
Hi Folks,

In the hunt for a 7-seater, I ended up stumbling over a Astra Convertible Turbo for absolute pennies - had to have it.

Only prob is, it's done 30k, is a 2003, and is still on orig cambelt!!

Need it changing asap.  Just getting my feelers out to see if there's anyone here willing to do the cambelt, tensioner, waterpump, oil and filter change?  Mr Elite Pete - I've PM'd you, if you ain't seen pal ;-)

Only prob is, with belt being so far overdue, I'd be looking at someone who could head up to sunny Wigan...

Cheers  :y

Want want want!!  But don't have the balls...  :-[

The amount I see on t'ebay as "spares or repairs", with grumbly-bits, scares me off  :'(

But yours looks like a fine example, well paid for (I'd be looking at round about the £2k area, I.E. the "Danger Zone"...  :-X "

Well folks,

The new bambino is on the way in Jan, hence the reason for me selling my Miggy,

Miggy got sold to a very nice gentleman in Lincs, a splendid chap indeed he was, a pleasure to deal with (especially after all the messers I had to deal with during the selling process...  >:(  >:(  >:( )

After the ol' girl went, I got by just using the 400 Superdream I restored over winter for work, seeing as the weather was nice.  Just to tide me over till we got back off hols in the Motorhome.

Having got back today (Saturday), it's just sunk in...

F**k, I miss my Miggy  :-[  :-[  :-[

Saw loads in Germany, some absolute stunners.  And they look sooo much better with the Opel grille for some reason.

Was chatting to one German bloke, who was towing a huuuuge Hobby Prestige (and I mean huge, it's the size of 'van that needs an LGV to tow it over here) with a 3.2 Saloon at one campsite (in my broken German, he didn't speak a word of the Queens), showed him a pic of mine on my phone, and gave him the URL of here.  He was very happy at that.  He said - I think - that "these cars can tow anything, and I used to have a 3.0 Opel Reckord before this Omega, and I wants to keep this Omega till I die".

I'm just thinking Zafira GSi right now as the way forwards  ::)

And remembering fondly the last time we went up the Autobahn in our Miggy, 4-up, with all our camping gear in the boot, at 162mph on TomTom.

God bless JWG  :'(  :'(

Aye, that would be my Mig on eBay - and it turns out it was a messer who won it!  Getting tired of ebay now, every time I try to sell something on there, always end up being inundated by absolute t1ts...  >:(  The second the auction ended, he e-mailed me to say that he wouldn't be paying the £100 deposit, nor completing the sale, as he had been made redundant!  But he had no answer when I asked him why he didn't let me know sooner...  He hadn't even viewed the car.

Cheers for the nice comments anyway boys and girls  :)  Oh, and in his defence, I can attest to the fact that Mr B can indeed drive a car with 3 pedals - he's driven this one before!  ;)

My old advert in the "For Sale" section on here has long expired, so I've updated it with a new ad:
