General Car Chat / Possible Engine Issue...

Evening all.

, Last week I heard a type of squealing/screeching sound coming from the engine at hard acceleration coming out of a roundabout only lasted a few seconds at high RPM (I really shouldn't let boy racers get to me), Also a smell of rubber coming through the vents briefly, It's probably because the heated seats on, heater on, lights on etc.. More strain on the Aux belt/alternator so it slipped a little ? That's what my mate thinks anyways,

That was last week, It Hasn't done this since, Then again I've been driving like miss daisy since then mostly

, But on the occasional acceleration not as hard mind it hasn't made any such noise/smell since, Maybe those electrical gadgets are the culprit, I'd have thought the car could take it though. She's not going to be used for a week or two now so i'll see how everything behaves again then.

Probably nothing but thought I'd mention this in case others have had similar issues ?

If I don't get a chance to say before Christmas..

Of you're mobile network ?

I'm with THREE pay as you go and recently I've noticed huge speed increments at home indoors, Roughly 2-3 bars, Download 6-17mbps, Upload 0.54-1.36mbps. Which for me if unheard of, It's roughly 6x faster than my BT broadband

I normally get between 1-3mbps download on THREE but past few days it's been good, Wonder why

Not that I'm complaining

Looks as if the right side bulb has blown this time round, Did this in the summer and a tap here and there and it came back to life... That didn't work this time

, Screws behind air vents/steering column if i remember correctly ?

The main beam light has always been dead, Never bothered me so never replaced, So now would be the chance to kill 2 with one stone, Well 3 birds with one stone if i decide to put the eml bulb back...

I'm sure Rob posted a link awhile ago to a place that sell these kind of bulbs somewhere, But i cant find it. Looking for good quality but also cheap

No idea when i'' get round to doing this, Too cold and dark early these days $:-\$ ... So i'm in no rush to do this as i can still see the part of the display not lit even in the pitch black, Just enough back light too see.

General Discussion Area / Restoring an iPhone from iTunes

Well i got my replacement iPhone 5 back from apple today a new device, Before sending the old one back i had made a backup copy to iCloud and iTunes on the laptop.

I'm trying to restore the iPhone using iTunes on the Laptop, Which i did and everything was back apart from the apps, I tried to sync the apps from the Laptop and it went through the loading bar steps, 1,2,3, 4 etc and it just says Sync Cancelling.

So i'm trying to restore the phone again, But i'm sure that wont fix this hiccup i'm having... I would try iCloud but my internet is too slow for that, But if it came to the worst i could use iCloud i suppose.

Any ideas

I've noticed recently (going by the trip computer) that my avarage MPG has gone down from 26-28mpg to around 20-23mpg, Going the same route roughly 27 miles each way, Nothing different in the driving patern apart from having the hid lights on and heated seat on.. I have reset the computer before setting off and before heading back... Do these really use that much or could it be the cold weather even or something else
