Insurance renewal .
« on: 25 March 2024, 11:05:21 »

Last year it cost £233 to insure the Subaru, the renewal this year £351 been with LV for several years, so onto  Go Compare got it for £187 with Carole Nash, the car is  19 years old now so it would be written off for any damage sustained in an accident, all I want is to be legal. I told LV that I would not be renewing they asked if I would like a quote to see if they could reduce the premium, told them that they have just got too greedy now & that the vehicle will now be insured elsewhere.

I couldn't beat my renewal this year... Next best quote was about £300 more.

Was insured with LV for a few years but switched after they sold my details following a non fault accident. The spam calls got so bad I had to change my number >:(

Seeing Mick's post prompted me to ring LV. I managed to get £60 off my renewal and £50 off the wife's. £110 for a ten minute call is ok, but both policies together still come in at around £1000  :(

I'm expecting the Range Rover to be around £600 from LV in July working on their price increase, Go compare came up at £246 again all I want is to be legal the RR is a 2007 & probably only worth about £3000.

There are certain insurance companies that are refusing to insure anyone over 70 now. Or quoting such a ridiculously high price that they know won't be accepted.

My Dad is 87 next, rand LV today for a quote & they have refused to insure him. Not sure who he's insured with at the moment, but they've quoted him £1720 for his Chrysler Grande Voyager!  :o :o

My Grandson has just passed his test and bought himself a very nice Mazda 2 his insurance is £3500, he has a black box to monitor his driving without the box it would have been over £6000.
