New glow plug for my astra. Cost of the glow plug itself......£108.24  :o Add code read and labour £165.89.

All covered under warranty?
No, my astra, not wifey's. Nearly five years old, so a glow plug is one of those little things that will start happening.

Vauxhall were supposed to ring today when the part for her astra came in. I rang them, but "the parts van was delayed"  ;D Load of bollix, of course, but what can I do? Except make sure they never get their greedy hands on it once it's out of warranty.

This is the part her astra needs:

If they drag their heels at Vx, I'll buy one and get it fitted locally, and they can stuff their warranty up their arsehole.

Don't be silly, of course it's not made of gold, the melting temperature would be too low. It's made of secret 'stuff', put together in a special way, that people like me wouldn't understand.
Apparently.

It wasn't a dealer, it was a local garage. The cost I quoted is the actual price for the glow plug...I checked. So £60 odd for a code read and labour is very reasonable, esp. when you consider that Vx charge £90 for just the code read.
A friend of mine who has the same car took his to Perrys for the same job, he paid over £240.

I keep forgetting I'm on a forum of old men in greasy overalls who think £10 for a full service is rather steep.  ;D

Gave Mrs builder's astra a good wash and leathered it off ,
"It didn't need washing" says Mrs Builder   ???
says silver on the log book, not mat dirt beige  ::)
gave my Omega a very quick wash ,left to drip dry  :(
will have to give it a machine cut and polish when she's not moaning looking blissfully unaware   ;)
