Omega General Help / Stag installation guide
« on: 24 February 2014, 22:47:05 »
I have received the Stag kit and am reading through the destructions tonight as I appreciate there will be some differences to the kit I previously fitted.
I now have a few questions (what's new 😄😜)!

Firstly, it shows an electrical connection to the coil, ignition and the battery, but none to the ECU other than the lambdas. I'm guessing the coil and ignition connections are what we make at ECU rather than at the components themselves?
It also shows the filter in line prior to the pressure and temp sensor (which my old kit didn't have at all) but as the filter has two outlets and the sensor has one inlet, can the order of these be reversed?
There's no software or connection included but I think that's an oversight.

Sorry for what may be daft questions but going to get it right this time 😄 .... fingers crossed  :D

General Car Chat / Typical!
« on: 31 January 2014, 14:22:48 »
Finally in the position to buy a new lpg kit as planned. I rang this morning with a quick query before ordering online, only to be told that he doesn't have a v6 Stag kit atm! Tried to talk me into another (KME?) more expensive one, but apart from the money, the whole point was to get a recognised kit for all the help and support available here.
Ah well. I've to check back to see if there are any kits coming in in the near future, but I guess I'll have to start looking elsewhere too  :-\

General Car Chat / 206 front strut removal
« on: 16 January 2014, 00:29:13 »
Found the front coil spring broken on my wife's 206 this morning, so it needs replaced.
On suggestion, I'm considering removing the strut entirely and taking it somewhere to get the spring replaced. Although I have changed the rear shocks on my car, I've never done the fronts.
I appreciate care needs to be taken re sensors, etc but has anyone experience of the 206 and are there any potential pitfalls?
TIA  :y

As a matter of interest, are these the same across the range?
Or are they model or engine specific?

General Discussion Area / Pressure washer

Halfords have a 1400W power washer on sale at £39. Are their own brand any good?
Tesco also have a Karcher 1400W on offer at £79. It's only for occasional use, but would the latter be a better buy, even at twice the price?

Omega Electrical and Audio Help / Fog light switches
« on: 18 December 2013, 18:31:43 »
Just noticed tonight that the fog lamp switches on the main headlamp control unit are not illuminated. Should they be? I thought there was only one bulb in that unit, but the control knob for the head lights is lit  :-\

Omega Electrical and Audio Help / Courtesy lights
« on: 13 December 2013, 17:31:54 »
Decided to change the puddle light bulbs. Big mistake!
Removed the one in the driver's door and they all went out, including the internal courtesy light. Thought it was a fuse but I can't find which one. Changed the usual suspects with no joy.
Help please  :'(

Great first half. Reverted to type a bit in the second and failed to take their chances.
All Blacks fought to the end and took advantage. Maybe next time  :-\

Anyone have any knowledge of these?
Miss2112 needs a laptop or something, and I've seen these at a reasonable price.
Just thought I'd ask  :y

Car Parts, bits For Sale & Wanted / Pollen filter
« on: 13 November 2013, 09:27:32 »
I have a genuine GM pollen filter which I ordered in error - it's not the carbon one, just a plain filter.
Not sure if it's any good to anyone?
£7.50 ono posted?

General Car Chat / Does it exist?

A short pipe direct from bulkhead to HBV?
It was mentioned some time ago in a thread re removal of secondary heater pump whilst installing lpg. I appreciate most breakers are Elites due to the toys, but would a lesser model not have the secondary pump,  and therefore a substitute pipe instead?
Would be handy, and help tidy up the engine bay  :y

Just a thought  ???

General Discussion Area / Parcel2go
« on: 06 November 2013, 19:55:25 »
Am about to send a parcel to England and thought I'd check for pricing.
The box weighs a little less than 3kg and measures 16x16x6 inches.
Royal mail are out, Collect+ looking good, but thought I'd try p2g as well. The site quote tool says that the parcel is either too big or too heavy for them!
Is it really that big? Surely not?

General Car Chat / Day out .......
« on: 01 November 2013, 00:02:48 »
Took a few days off work as Miss2112 was off school for half term, and today headed down to Dublin and out to an 'Outlet Village' another hour beyond the city (more shopping  :o). Had a great day of quality time though with Mrs & Miss, and did 327 miles into the bargain.
No issue to the Omega, which also turned 80k on the way home  :y
Weather turned a bit sour at times, but it's nearly November and you can't have everything  ;D
