I was wondering how long it would be until it appeared on here. ::)

Both idiots, both deserve a clip around the ear 'ole.  Tbh if the space wasnt safe for passing the cyclist should have been further over to the right.  Thats just basic roadcraft, and i am not sure if the camera belies the true depth of scale but i get much closer passes than that every f-ing day.

But what pussy (with a superior cardiovascular system) would run away from a porker like that?  I dream of the day any one of the drivers who give me my weekly dose of abuse and vitriol has the balls to give me sufficient excuse cause to, ahem, defend myself officer ;)

I did laugh when fatty decided to clean the floor with his face though ;D

Yes, Mountain out of a Molehill I think, both wound each other up........... ::) ::) :-X

Actually, this sort of thing being put on you tube then going the rounds, is  beginning to backfire against the cyclist. I have read many comments on various outlets, and it is doing cycling no good at all. After a few agreeing comments, it then degrades into a massive slagging campaign against the poster/cyclist. Especially when they have a 'track record' of posting similar stuff.
No one wants to be knocked off their bike, at worst killed or injured, but these vigilante campaigns are doing more harm than good IMO.
It won't take long before an enraged motorist (like the original post) does get the cyclist, especially if its somewhere quiet. There won't be evidence because the camera will be ripped off the helmet and destroyed.

True but when over 80% of cyclist fatalities are down to the fault of the motorist and the conviction rate is p!ss poor at best you can understand why so many wear cameras.  I do, mostly in the case of an accident or an incident I have something for the fuzz.  Also you cannot rely on public video support because unless there is a fatality some organisations like TFL wont release the CCTV footage, even to the police!

I agree that some cyclists take every mistake made by motorists very personally but if you went through what I go through every day you would understand it.  I haven't succumbed to that behaviour myself but I understand it.

I fully understand where you are coming from...I have spent years cycling. But you-tubing every time a car comes close (and that is debateable in the original post) and causing confrontation does not help the cause.
In the case of an accident, fair play.
I know its a slightly different scenario being encased in steel, but how many times has someone cut close to your beloved car. Even people with dash cams don't seem to go rushing back to you-tube it. Serious incidents, maybe.
Just a personal opinion of someone who likes cycling :y

I use a dash cam as well, but that's another story ::)

I could get as many clips of bad driving and cycling from either of my cameras.  I see both as equally necessary on today's roads, which is a sad state of affairs really.

This is why cyclists should not hug the edge of the road/parked cars regardless of where the cycling lane is/isn't :y

Yes I agree with you....
I have to say I was always taught to give cars a wide berth to avoid opening doors. If you notice, he was travelling fast and very very close to the cars. Does not condone the opening of the door, but you also have to remember, that the closer he is to the parked car, the harder it is to see him approaching. Angles play a large part :y

Interesting development:

http://road.cc/content/news/159864-police-caution-pratfall-road-rage-driver-video

He He. That frame of salad-dodger Peugeot dad (briefly) achieving aviation is indeed pure gold.

You also have to remember that the shoulder of the road is the bit that they never bother to touch when fixing pot holes or resurfacing "dressing" the road. They never bother to address the sunken drain covers when doing so either.

You have to take as much road as you need to be safe from the traffic as well as the loose drain covers, pot holes and other detritus in the gutter. If "Peugeot Dad" doesn't like it, then, well. :P
