water pump
« on: 03 August 2015, 21:59:56 »

My neighbor has a 2.2 miggy...two months ago he had fitted..timing belt kit/rollers/water pump.....he has been losing a wee drop of water from header tank and also the temp gauge is running at 95 degrees....if after a run of say 10 miles temp gauge reading 90 to 95 degrees switch off engine and leave for ten minutes and then turn ignition on and the temp gauge is way over into the red leaving ignition on without starting the car it drops back after about 30 secs to around 90 degrees....he has had the timing cover off only to find that the new water pump is weeping water from the little hole in the water pump....would this cause the temp gauge to show such a high reading at different times.....the car itself runs very good and without problem  :-\ thanks..
