Fixed the water pump, only to crawl home from the test drive at 5MPH when the DBW throttle went into limp home. :-[

Bit of contact cleaner in the throttle body connector, which got a little damp when it ejected its' toys, seems to have cured it. I hate problems that just go away like that, though. :-\

After fitting an electrical socket into the in-laws caravan today I will hopefully be dropping the gearbox oil and rear diff oil, should be nice and warm by the time I get home, so should flow out readily :)

Been off work, full of flu/heavy coughing fits/zero energy. First day back, get within 20 yards of work and clattering sound, steering goes, battery light on dash. Coast to a standstill, look underneath, open bonnet, to find a shredded aux belt.  :'(

Spent my dinner walking to the motorfactors, bought a new (Gates) drive belt (6PK2020) £18, and fitting it, with the associated grazed knuckles that comes with any work on the V6s.

Still, at least it's cold, too!  ;D

Replaced the wiper motor and linkage today due to wipers hitting windscreen pillar and bottom of screen...on removal of old unit the reason was clear,,the motor bearing had more play than a spoon in a bowl of porridge..now other unit fitted and thanks to the great instructions on..how to...on here was well worth doing..as wipers now work great and without clonking.. :y :y

Put a new pair of tyres on the arse of the Bullet. Well, obviously I didn't, I left that to a man* with the tools.

Clearly, on my commute in, then my drive to tyre place at lunchtime, TC was fully disabled, and mucho childish, purile fun was had. Mucho.

* Well, boy.

I'll add that this morning was the first time I'd used it for a couple of weeks, due to the borderline legal rears. Immediately, it was like being home again. Lovely.

For the record, what is the average life of a set of your rear tyres?

In the Bullet, I'mm usually consistent. 10k from rears, 20k from fronts. Blurred a bit as I have to rotate then due to wear patterns (outer edges on fronts, central wear on rears)

TBE is variable. eg, I had 3k from a brand new set of SC5 (NOT recommended for Omegas!), 15k from a set of half worn Nexens, and 6k from front GY F1's before they failed (though I did get 40% back as they admitted they shouldn't have failed) - rears still going, estimating 10k ish.

That sounds a lot better than your self-claimed driving style has suggested. :y :y :y

Today I have changed the gearbox oil...... OMFG I don't think its been changed in its life - ever...!!!!

It was very very thin and black as a black thing on a black day....

I got 5.5 litres of very lovely bright cherry red thick ATF oil into the gearbox so should be good for many more happy miles.... I just need to change the oil in the diff, swap manifolds for the nice 2.6 manifolds that arrived today and change the camcover gaskets then she'll be good to go for our short break we'll be going for within the next couple of weeks :y

Might also be removing the heatshields from the downpipes as they're making a very strange buzzing noise and its starting to get on me tits LOL
