We have a Brit world champion[for the 6th time] in World Superbikes yet nothing is ever mentioned on TV about it.
Sad to say it, but I don't think world superbikes is worthy of the title of a world championship any more. The calibre of riders is nowhere near as high as it used to be, and they race in front of a handful of spectators with very small tv audiences. Its well past its sell by date Im afraid.
As for the U.S. Grand prix. The Ferrari story is an interesting one. Yet again there have been many rumours about their car being illegal. The latest speculation in the paddock was that they had found a way around the FIA installed fuel flow sensor.
Ferrari publicly called for the FIA to declare their car legal on Friday. On Saturday the FIA issued a very clear statement of how the fuel flow rules should be interpreted. on Sunday, the Ferraris had apparently lost their advantage.
Verstappen was asked by a reporter last night for his opinion on why the Ferraris had lost their advantage. He replied "That's what happens when you stop cheating".
Hamilton for me, is now probably the greatest of all time. or at least the modern era which I suppose began in the mid 70,s.
Its not just about his results. He is the complete package with no real apparent weaknesses, but more importantly for me, he goes about his racing the right way. He is a sportsman, unlike others mentioned in the same breath as he is. Senna was great, but there were times when he was undoubtedly unsporting and crossed the line.
Schumacher didn't understand the concept of sport, only results gained by any and all means, and he didn't recognise the existence of "the line".
To do what it takes to win Championship after Championship the way he does makes all the others look very ordinary.
He hasnt always done it in the best machinery either. He would have won the title in his fist year but for a gearbox gremlin. He didn't have the best car and he beat his own team mate, who many reckoned to be the best in the business, but lost the title in the last race due to a gearbox gremlin.
He won his first title in his second year in a car that wasn't the best car on the grid. He would have beaten Rosberg to the title, but for having more mechanical problems that year.
He has won every year since, in a car that was sometimes the fastest, but sometimes not as fast as the Ferrari.
He can be a bit marmite outside of the car, but inside it he is a magician, without peer.
