Knocking from front
« on: 28 May 2016, 17:24:41 »

I changed the drop links on the 2.2 about ten days or so ago to cure the chattering over rough surfaces, which it did,  all quiet for about three or four days , now I have a much louder clunking from somewhere that I cant just determine ,I thought broken spring at first but have felt all the way way up both and seem ok.
I have been underneath with a pry bar and bones seem ok nothing is loose but if you push down the front of car you can replicate the noise , could it be arb bushes?? how could I check.
Any input helpful
Cheers

They should be accessible on the desmond from thge engine bay...

Grab the arb infront of the crank pulley and give it a shake... if it moves, replace the bushes... poly available for these :y

MOST unlikely to be the ARB bushes. Which is a shame, because they're easy to change and a pair of stock rubber ones cost about  a fiver. I have polys on mine, and wouldn't bother with them again; the 12year old originals were still perfect.

Collapsed topmounts would be my guess.
